CPR & First Aid Training

		Learn life saving CPR and first aid skills. The Orcas Island Fire & Rescue offers regularly scheduled courses at the Eastsound fire station. These programs are offered by certified instructors. Classes include American Heart Association Heartsaver Adult/Child CPR & AED, Infant CPR and First Aid/CPR & AED training. Certification is good for two years and satisfies OSHA, WISHA and L & I regulations. We offer a FREE Adult/ Child CPR & AED Training and Certification on the first Monday of each month October to June at the Eastsound Firestation, beginning at 7 pm. You must pre-register by signing up at the Eastsound Fire Station. There is a $10.00 deposit to reserve a slot in the class. CPR and First Aid Calendar here. 		ADULT/CHILD CPR Mondays 7 pm to 10 pm Pre-registration is required. The American Heart Adult/Child CPR includes foreign Body Airway Obstruction (Choking) and Automatic External Defibrillation. This course requires pre-registration to help us provide a low student to instructor ratio. The course is free of charge but due to space available, we ask that if you reserve a space and cannot attend that you give us the courtesy of calling to release your reservation or a “$10 No Show/No Cancel” fee will a charged.

		INFANT CPR Monday 7 pm to 9 pm. (January & June only) Pre-registration is required. The American Heart Infant CPR includes foreign Body Airway Obstruction (Choking) twice each calendar year. This course requires pre-registration to help us provide a low student to instructor ratio. The course is free of charge but due to space available, we ask that if you reserve a space and cannot attend that you give us the courtesy of calling to release your reservation or a “$10 No Show/No Cancel” fee will a charged.

		FIRST AID/CPR First Aid Training and Certification is also available at the Eastsound Fire Station. This 5-hour course begins at 9 am. You must pre-register by calling 376-2331. A $35 charge per student is due prior to the beginning of the class. This basic first aid course satisfies OSHA, WISHA and L & I standards and includes General Principles, Injury Emergencies, Medical Emergencies, Adult/Child CPR & AED, Environmental Emergencies (Optional) and Infant CPR. A minimum of 4 students is required to offer the class. You will be contacted by phone the day prior to confirm or if we need to reschedule. Registration fee will be refunded if you cannot reschedule.

		ADDITIONAL CLASSES Private courses are available. The cost for a private class at the Eastsound fire station is $150.00 for up to 6 participants. Off-site class cost will also include a per diem and travel fee. The rate for private classes increase with additional participants and the need for additional instructors.
